All Woolly Wormhead tutorials, workshops and knitting patterns are colour-blind, neurodivergent, low-bandwidth and printer friendly.

The standard PDF format is compact, with succinct and clear instructions that don’t use colour beyond the photos on the front and back pages. All charts are greyscale, and chart pages include both the key and sufficient written instructions to ensure that the pattern can be worked entirely from the chart page alone. These patterns have been tested by neurodivergent knitters, and those with limited internet and printer access.

In addition, some patterns are also available in an LVA format, that is large print and suitable for screen-readers. These patterns use 23 point black sans serif text against a white background. They are fully written out, without the use of abbreviations, and contain no charts. They also use no colour beyond the photo on the front page. These patterns have been tested by visually impaired knitters. Patterns in this format will contain ‘LVA’ in the file name.

This sample product contains a file for each format.

About our Hat patterns

Each Woolly Wormhead pattern is a short workshop in PDF format. Each pattern is carefully developed and every effort is made to ensure that the instructions are as clear as possible. In addition, the patterns are all multi-sized, professionally edited, and professionally photographed. These patterns will not only teach you how to create your own beautiful knitted Hat, but will also teach you new skills and improve your knitting knowledge!

With each purchase you will receive an email with a download link to the primary PDF. This PDF includes the instructions to make the Hat, and also includes links to in-depth photographic tutorials and where available, supporting videos. These educational resources are provided to guide you through each technique so that you can learn new skills as you make your Hat, all at your own pace. There is also live support available via our forum, where we can answer any questions and provide help where needed.

Once payment clears you’ll receive an email with the download link and instructions - do check your Spam folder if it doesn't arrive promptly. The link will expire after 5 downloads. For further help with downloading and storing files, please visit our FAQ page.
