Alveare’s deep welts pile up like a iconic beehive, creating an irresistibly wearable slouchy Hat with an optional bobble. The alternating bands make for a simple, gratifying knit that shows the beauty of both sides of stocking stitch – choose a soft, smooth yarn such as this BFL singles for best effect.
Alveare is a slouchy Hat, worked seamless from the bottom up. It starts with a wide vertical rib for the brim and the body features a horizontal rib pattern that continues to the crown. Decreases are worked evenly at five points around the crown, which creates a star-like imprint to the crown of the Hat. It is finished with an optional bobble.

Sarah –
Great pattern and so much fun to make this hat. My grandkids love this style.
James Walkswithwind –
This hat is so comfortable, and works with all kinds of hair/hairstyles. Like all of Woolly’s patterns, there is attention to detail and multiple sizes, which makes it a fantastic pattern to work from.
