Teaching & Workshops
As a fully qualified and experienced teacher & lecturer in Art, Design & Textiles, I offer a range of knitting workshops and lectures.
My main degree is in Textile Art, having graduated from Goldsmiths College, University of London, in 1999. From there, I completed my teaching post-grad (PGCE) in Art & Design at Goldsmiths. I spent a number of years teaching in mainstream schools, covering all areas of the creative curriculum, with a specialism in fashion, textiles and sculpture. I developed the A-level Textiles curriculum, organised and taught extra-curricular life-drawing classes, and ran workshops in constructed textiles. Before my time at Goldsmiths College, I had qualified as an Electronics Engineer and then went on to study Industrial Textiles at Bolton University, as well as several shorter qualification courses including silversmithing, pattern cutting and bobbin lacemaking.
As a professional teacher, I thoroughly plan all workshops and provide handouts. I am happy to provide the following workshops and lectures for in-person and virtual events; please click on the images below to download the overview PDF.
Based in Italy, I can easily travel to European and international yarn events for in-person workshops. I also thoroughly enjoy teaching virtual classes, and particularly enjoy working with Guilds.
